Nikon Coolpix P500 with 36x Zoom Launched; Longest Zoom Among Coolpix Models

Nikon has announced the Coolpix P500 with a 36x zoom lens- the longest found in any Coolpix models till date. Now you need not worry about the insufficient telephoto ability of your compact digital cams, Nikon has brought it to you. While unveiling Coolpix P500, Nikon has also announced two more new models under their super-zoom high power Coolpix cameras category- Coolpix S9100 and Coolpix L120- adding more color to their already rich product line-up.
Apart from the 36x zoom lens, Coolpix P500 features a 12.1 megapixel backside illumination CMOS sensor which helps the user get crystal clear pictures even at low-light conditions.

To meet the exceptional needs of a super zoom Nikkor ED glass lens with 36x zoom, Coolpix P500 comes with hybrid Vibration Reduction (VR) stabilization system to get steady snaps.

For better performance at low-light conditions, Coolpix P500 features special modes like Backlighting Scene mode, Night Landscape mode and Night portrait mode.

Moreover, it helps you record 1080p full HD video with stereo sound and allows capturing still pictures during recording. It has additional features which help you record videos at slow motion or with high-speed special effects.

This super zoom camera comes with a 3 inch high resolution display and ISO sensitivity up to ISO 3200.

However the Coolpix P500 will be available for purchase from March 2011 only. Available in Black and Red colors, Coolpix P500 is priced at $399.95. Are you getting yours?
