White iPhone 4 is Now Available

After a number of rumors and leaked images, Apple has finally released the rare albino handset worldwide. In the US, the rare white iPhone 4 will come in both AT&T and Verizon networks. Aside from its color and tweaked proximity sensor, nothing much has changed in the white iPhone 4. Even the contract and price details also remain the same: $199 on contract for the 16GB model, $299 for 32GB.

Google Nexus S 4G On Sprint Arriving In May

AMD Launches Three Entry Level GPUs: Radeon HD 6450, 6570 and 6670

Although AMD raises the standard of what graphic cards should be release after release, it never forgets to serve the needs of users who prefer an easy-going, non-hardcore graphic card that would just suit their needs of light gaming and basic to moderately advanced desktop operations. Wii Successor To Be Launched On 2012, Nintendo Confirms

Nintendo just confirmed that there is something upcoming after its popular Wii gaming console, and it’s coming to that market next year.

The sales of Wiis consoles has decreased significantly as of 2010, with Nintendo selling only 15.1 million Wii units worldwide, compared to its previous sales of almost 90 million when the console was introduced in 2006.

According to a report by Mashable, the company also revealed its yearly financial results for 2010, marking a big drop in net profit — $825 million — which 66 percent less than in 2009.

Nintendo decided that this is a great time to announce the upcoming launch of a successor for Wii. The date of the launch is still undecided though, but the company gave its word to have a playable unit, and to provide more details and specifications with regards to the new Wii model at E3 Expo on the second week of June in Los Angeles.

White iPhone 4 Starts Shipping

I know its hard to believe but this weekend Apple has started prepping US retailers for the arrival of its White iPhone 4 smartphone. After numerous delays and rumours Apple has now started shipping their mystical white device, which is the same as Apple’s black iPhone 4, but is made from purest white.

The delays of the white iPhone 4 were apparently caused by problems with paint mixtures that were causing a large number of defective units in the production process.

 These now seem to be solved and if you have been patiently waiting for its arrival. Apple Insider writes that the white iPhones are in stores now and they are expected to be available on Wednesday this week and will be available in both AT&T – GSM and Verizon – CDMA versions.

How to Unsubscribe from Mailing Lists in Gmail

Gmail added this feature quite a while ago, but I wanted to highlight how awesome it is.

If you’ve ever subscribed to a mailing list, you may run into an issue where you can’t remember your password for that mailing list. And where it won’t let you unsubscribe, unless you have the password. Or maybe you just don’t want to go through all the steps of unsubscribing from a mailing list.

Gmail has a feature called “Unsubscribe from this mailing list,” and it does just that..sometimes. It can be really hit or miss if it actually works, or even shows up as an option.

After clicking that, You will shortly thereafter received an email confirming your unsubscribe request. Awesome isn’t it :)

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Review, Spec and Price

Earlier this year Sony Ericsson has released a new smartphone Xperia Arc. Xperia Arc is the latest generation in the Xperia series, using the latest operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Apple: We’re investigating Verizon iPad 3G issues

A number of users are having issues connecting their iPad 2 to Verizon’s network, prompting Apple to issue the following statement:

We are aware that a small number of iPad 2 customers have experienced connectivity issues with the Verizon 3G network and we are investigating it.

At the moment of this writing, 9 pages of comments were devoted to the issue on Apple’s forums with additional comments appearing all around the Interwebs.
So what gives? Those with Wi-Fi only iPad 2 units have no problems at all and the same is true for AT&T users with iPad 2. We can only hope this is a pure software problem that will be solved with a firmware update. If that’s true and considering Apple acknowledged the issue, we expect the patch to be released anytime soon.
As a reminder, the iPad 2 went on sale last month in three models: One has only Wi-Fi, a second has Wi-Fi plus the ability to connect to AT&T’s 3G network, and the third one with Wi-Fi and CDMA radio that sings along Verizon Wireless.

HTC Sensation 4G Announced for T-Mobile

T-Mobile and HTC announced the Sensation today, which was code-named Pyramid in earlier leaks. As expected, it has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display, 768 MB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera on the back with dual-LED flash and full 1080p video recording, and the usual stuff like Wi-Fi, GPS, and

Bluetooth. The HSPA+ clocks in at 14.4 Mbps – I’ll leave that to you to decide if that’s 4G or not. It runs Android 2.3.2, with a new version of HTC Sense that includes active lock screens with properly useful and customizable information. It also comes with HTC Watch, a new streaming movie service
The term “superphone” used throughout the launch still makes me cringe, but if anything is deserving of the title, it’s a phone with a screen with that high resolution, and that nice of a camera. Toshiba has announced two new camcorders with Full HD capability: the Camileo B10 and the Camileo P100. TI OpenLink Open-Sources Mobile Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Connections to Android

Chip maker Texas Instruments today announced OpenLink, an open source project for handset manufacturers and developers to plug into various wireless technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM. OpenLink plays nice with Linux-based operating systems like Android and MeeGo, and best of all, it’s not necessarily locked-down to TI hardware (though it will support their all-in-one WiLink solution). Eventually, OpenLink will expand to include standards like ANT, Bluetooth Low Energy, and ZigBee.
While that might not necessarily mean a lot for end-users directly, it does mean Android handset manufacturers will be able to implement a big chunk of their connectivity for a lot cheaper, which translates to savings that can eventually be passed down to end users and push Android phones into more entry-level positions. Of course, that’s no guarantee for quality; sure these drivers are going to be ripe with community support, but at least licensed, closed-source products have the luxury of direct support from the ones making them. Luckily, Texas Instruments has a lot of experience in this field and I suspect will provide a solid foundation for the community at large to work with.

Cisco Flip is dead and smartphones killed it

Cisco said it would be killing its Flip personal video recorder division soon even after spending more than $590 million to acquire it a few years ago. Cisco Flip is dead and I think it’s clear that smartphones helped kill it.
The closure of the Cisco Flip division will cost about 550 jobs and $300 million during the first half of its fiscal year. That’s a painful cut but the company has to do it after promising to make “bold moves” to help Cisco get back on track.
Cisco Flip was a great idea … in 2008. These drop-dead simple video cameras offered HD when that seemed like the realm of super-expensive camcorders. I have a Flip and always felt it was very easy to get your videos on the computer and up to a social network like YouTube or Facebook.

The problem is that the Cisco Flip division is going against a world where many people already have a video camera in their pocket. The iPhone 4 has a great video recorder and the Optimus 2X (coming to the states as the T-Mobile G2x) can even shoot videos at 1080p HD.
It’s not just the capability to shoot videos though, as you’ll be able to edit these videos on the go. Thanks to the rise in high-speed mobile networks, you’ll also be able to share these to your social networks with just a few taps. Cisco Flip is easy but recording, editing and uploading from your phone can be even easier.
The move will help Cisco refocus on its core competencies and it does have a “transition” plan for the Cisco Flip division. The company didn’t dive into what this would mean but it could potentially keep the software alive in the cloud and help those shooting so much video with their phones.
