HTC has announced that their four handsets currently running Android 2.2 Froyo OS will get the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. This update would be released soon, by the second quarter of this year itself, which is by the end of this June.
The company had confirmed the same. Well, the four handsets going to feature Gingerbread, hereafter, are as follows: HTC Desire Z, Desire HD, Desire, and Incredible S.
As you see, no specific date has been announced by the company in this regard. However, the second quarter release of Gingerbread certainly is a relieving update for those who carry the above mentioned phones.
This is a bit delayed, though. Hence, the owners have to wait for sometime to experience the much-awaited OS Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
There is also news regarding the release of Google Android 2.4 Ice Cream OS. It is being said that Google might release the same by the second quarter of 2010. The Ice Cream update is said to combine the elements of Gingerbread and Honeycomb.
