Google is a billion page views per day

Goolge is now one billion page views a day that research new image can display up to 1,000 images per page. There is news about Twitter preparing an auto-translate option that will, as the name suggests, automatically translate posts into your preferred native language. Last year, Twitter’s Biz Stone made an announcement about Twitter working on languages beyond its native English and Japanese. Facebook is in the limelight yet again, only this time for all the wrong reasons. According to health experts, the popular social networking site has led to resurgence in the sexually transmitted disease 'syphilis'.

A report claims the virus has increased fourfold in those areas of Britain where Facebook is most popular. The reason cited is Facebook has thrown open a new channel for meeting multiple partners for casula sexual encounters.

According to Peter kelly, director of public health in Teesside, Britain, a link has been found between social networking sites and the rise in Syphilis cases, especially among young women. Syphilis is a critical disease and people having unprotected sex with casual partners are at high risk.

Twitter can help predict box office hits

According to a new research conducted bya team of computer scientists, the box office ratings of blockbuster films can be predicted by studying the tweets at the micro-blogging site Twitter. The team has studied about 3 millon tweets on as many as 25 movies and has come to the conclusion that the rate, at which these tweets were produced, can be used to accurately predict box office ratings prior to a  movie release.



The researchers, from the Hewlett Packard (HP) firm, have claimed their prediction to be "incredibly close". They have also quoted and example for the film The Crazies. According to the tweets received for this film, it was counted to gross $16.8m in its first weekednd in the USA. And it actually took $16.06m .

Escorts Q3 net profit grew by 106 percent

Escorts reported a profit of Rs 45.84 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010, 106 percent from Rs 22.2 crore recorded during the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 68.4 crore in the quarter, against a profit of Rs 41.4 crore for the corresponding period. Net sales rose to Rs 806 crore, up 38.5 percent to Rs 582 crore last year. EBITDA before special items increased by 24 per cent of Rs 78.3 crore from Rs 63.1. Use layers as background effects in Photoshop

Just imagine what fun you can have if you are able to mix and match photographs and backgrounds. Let us say, you have a snapshot of yourself clicked in a banquet hall and you change the background to snow-capped mountains for a totally different ambience. Or crop your picture and use it with various backgrounds such as lush green forests, golden beaches, and Victorian mansions and so on, to ensure a dramatic impact. Sounds thrilling? Well, all you need is a bit of know-how and loads of imagination to turn routine snapshots into great works of art. The idea is to use the 'Layers' option in Photoshop to get the desired background effect. So here we go.

The first thing required is to separate the background layer from the image. Now click on the 'New Layer' icon to make a fresh layer for the new background. The option is located at the lower right side of the control panel of the layer. Choose a color of your liking and fill the new layer with it. This color will be applied to the new background. In the Layers control panel, select or highlight the layer for the new background.

Click on the rectangular marquee tool in the toolbox which is on the left side of the Adobe Photoshop screen. Select a part in the image and to select - Modify - Feather. A window will open up and you can write the value depending on your preferred radius of the feathering effect. You can also change the value of the radius to experiment with various effects. Once you have entered a value in the Feather Radius, click OK. Then press the Delete key. Do remember to make the original background visible to view the total effect. With this little trick up your sleeve, you can tweak your own pictures. So go ahead and give free rein to your imagination.

Escorts Q3 net profit up 106 percent in the RS. 45.84 crore

Escorts Limited reported a profit of Rs 45.84 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010, 106 percent from Rs 22.2 crore recorded during the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax (PBT) stood at Rs 68.4 crore in the quarter, against a profit of Rs 41.4 crore for the corresponding period. Net sales rose to Rs 806 crore, 38.5 per cent to Rs 582 crore last year. EBITDA before special items increased by 24 per cent of Rs 78.3 crore from Rs 63.1. Escorts Limited follows a fiscal year from October to September.


During the quarter, Escorts Limited has registered sales of 17,917 units of tractors, an increase of 39 percent in 12 889 units. The sales performance is the result of aggressive marketing backed by a team of sales and marketing simplified. The tractor industry grew by 34 percent during the period from October 1909 until June 1910. During the same period, Escorts sales increased 43 percent.

About the results, Chairman and CEO Rajan Nanda said: "Escorts is to create a market value for the company and shareholders. I am very pleased that we have been able to justify the confidence our shareholders have relied on us and history of growth and profits on a sustainable basis will be used to act as a guarantee that he is ready to step forward.
